1959
Esther started singing in the Israëli National Theatre “Habimah”, where she met Abraham (Abi) Reichstat. They married and began singing at home for fun and then decided to try to make it as a duo in Israel.
1961
Esther won the Israëli Song Contest with two songs. Their first album went to no. 1. That year, Frank Sinatra who was touring the Oriënt doing shows for youth relief, choose Esther to perform in his six Israëli concerts. It was also in 1961 that the Ofarims went to Europe and settled in Geneva (Switzerland).

1962
Esther represented Israël at the Sopot Songfestival in Poland with the song “Stav”(Autumn) and won the second prize.

1963
Esther represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Festival in London with the song “T’en vas pas” (Please don’t go).She did win - but only for a few minutes - and was deposed when
a judging error was discovered and took the second place. Her recorded version of her contest song attained international popularity and was translated into Italian (“Non andar”) and German (“Melodie einer Nacht”) |

After the ESF, the Ofarims went to the U.S.A. and Canada and recorded their first album “Songs of the World” in 1963. At the Dutch “Grand Gala du Disque” they had great succes with “One more dance”. Esther and Abi were now among the top singing stars of Holland! |

1964
In 1964, Esther was mermaid on the isle of Rudi Carell’s ‘Robinson Crusoë show’. The show won the Silver Rose of Montreux! |

1965
In the U.S.A., Esther recorded her first solo album with Broadway songs,
“Is it really me!”, accompanied by the orchestra of Bobby Scott.
That same year, Esther and Abi made a concert tour through Germany and the U.S.A, and won the Edison prize at the Dutch “Grand Gala du Disque”. |

1966
In 1966, Esther received the Grand Prix International du Disque Académie Charles Cros in Paris.

1967
Two gold discs for two LP albums in Germany. Due to their novelty hit song, written in a somewhat 1920’s style by Mason Williams and Nancy Ames. 1967 was dubbed the Ofarims “Cinderella Rockefella” year’.

1968
In 1968 the Ofarims toured through England. After their concert in the Royal Albert Hall, they were introduced to
H.M. Queen Elizabeth. |

1969-1973
Again concerts in Germany. In March, they decided to go their own separate ways and divorced. Esther's first personality show was produced in Berlin and was followed
by her first album on Philips with new songs in different languages and from different countries. These songs were introduced in the TV personality show “Esther Color”.
She was travelling all over the world and appeared in many TV shows. |

Her second solo album was recorded in 1972 with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by another album as well as her last French album in 1973. Esther decided to take a long rest and to live a normal live . She gave only concerts in her homeland Israël. In Europe, she would not appear again in shows or concerts until 1982.

1982
Esther's first concert again in New York (Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center)! An LP with Israëli songs, newly recorded in New York, was released. In Germany, a new LP (“Complicated Ladies”) was recorded with Eberhard Schoener. This album contained sung poëtry written by Wolf Wondratschek and Ulf Miehe.

1984
Esther appeared for the first time on German stage again, in Joshua Sobol’s theatre show “Ghetto” , which was shown in Berlin and Hamburg.

Today!
Since 1998, Esther has been giving concerts in Hamburg (‘Hamburger Kammerspiele’) as well as several other cities in Germany. Every concert is a remarkable
succes. In 2004 was the concerthall in
Franfurt sold out! 2000 fans has visiting
her concert. In 2005 several concerts in
Dresden, Dortmund, Bremen, Hambourg, Dessau,
Frankfurt, Munich etc. A new live cd album
was available september of the same year!
New concerts are started since the 1st
februar 2009 and a new Live cd "I'll
see you in my dreams" with new songs
and arrangements.
